The National September 11 Memorial Museum opened today in New York City. The museum, built on the bedrock of the original Twin Towers, contains numerous artifacts from the terrorist attack.
C-section births, once performed only when medically necessary, are now given even for low-risk pregnancies, despite increased risks of infection and higher costs. According to the CDC, one in three births are now C-sections, a statistic many OBGYNs hope to change. Since the 1970s, C-sections have become relatively safe and routine procedures, and doctors are more willing to perform them if “normal” labor lasts too long, if a fetus is large or if a fetal heart rate indicates distress.
